Living as freed people, called to love God and neighbour, we seek to know Jesus Christ and make Him known.

Meetings

You are very welcome to join us as we worship every Sunday at 10:00 am, at 2 Fergusson Street, Feilding.

Our worship begins with a reading of the Bible as a call to worship. We then worship God in song, prayer, and the reading and preaching of the Bible. Each week we pray for God's grace upon our church and fellowship, for other churches and believers in our town and district, for saving grace and peace locally, nationally and globally, our offerings for the maintenance of the church and works of mercy.

Values and distinctives

Gospel-centrality: We seek to base our worship and ministry around the good news of what God has done for sinners through the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. (Rom 1:16-17, 1 Cor 15:1-4)

Biblical preaching: We believe the preaching of Scripture is a primary means of grace used by God to convict, convince and build us up in faith in Jesus Christ, that we might be both hearers and doers of His Word. (2 Tim 4:1-3, Rom 10:17, James 1:22)

Spirit-empowered: We recognise and rest upon the necessity of the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit for all of life and ministry, as modelled to us by Jesus. (Matt 3:13-17, Gal 5:16-18, Eph 1:13-14)

Prayer-reliant: We humbly seek God's will in prayer and rely on His grace rather than our own strength. (Phil 4:5-7, Matt 6:5-15, Eph 6:18-20)

Theologically conservative: We are theologically conservative in that we hold with a closed hand a reasoned biblical and Christian orthodoxy. (2 Tim 3:15-16, Jude 3, 1 Cor 9:19-23)

Men as servant-leaders: We hold to the equal value of men and women as image bearers of God, while acknowledging male headship in the home and qualified male-leadership in the church. (Gen 1:26-27, Eph 5:22-33, 1 Tim 3:1-13)

Importance of gathered worship: We place primary value on the gathering of the church for worship in spirit and truth. Here we are reminded of the grace received in Jesus Christ, and our call to go into the world seeking to love God and love people. (Heb 10:19-25, 2 Cor 3:18, Matt 22:36-40)

Statement of Faith

Redeemer Church Feilding traces its history to apostolic times (Matt 16:13-20, Acts 2) and before (e.g. Psalm 122) and through the 16th century Protestant Reformation (when Catholicism was challenged by leaders such as Martin Luther).

As our heritage is in the historic and orthodox Christian faith, we hold as consistent with scripture the three Ecumenical Creeds: the Apostles, the Nicene, and the Athanasian.

We seek to base our teaching of Scripture in general accordance to the standards of the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dordt, Westminster Standards, 1689 London Baptist Confession, and the 39 Articles of Religion.
